What Conn. Gen. Stat. §47a-21 requires
- Return deadline: 15–21 days
- 21 days — After tenancy ends
- 15 days — After receiving tenant's written forwarding address. Whichever of the two dates is later controls
- Deposit cap: 2 months' rent — 1 month if the tenant is 62 or older
- Accrued interest must be paid with the refund; itemized damage statement required for deductions
- Violation: liable for 2x the deposit
